I am an interior design and creative consultant, and I spend most of my time (both on and off work hours) researching products from appliances to tableware to sculpture to mattresses to felt-covered balance balls; I am committed to finding the best in each category based on aesthetics, usability, and durability.
I think that in order to achieve empathy, it’s important to have a diverse range of experiences and perspectives. Growing up with multiple cultures has allowed me to experience and to look at things with a broad perspective. Unfortunately, the media I grew up with did not include many stories about multi-cultural characters, but luckily and hopefully that seems to be changing.
Narrative Plenitude is a global discussion that aims to project more authentic depictions of underrepresented communities in order to break past the one-size fits all story cycle told by mainstream media.
